WELCOME TO LSP OVERVIEW AND RECEPTION
To develop an understanding of the need for community leadership and to review the purpose, policies and procedures of the Leadership St. Pete program.
OPENING RETREAT & LOCAL GOVERNMENT
To experience Local Government perspective, strengthen awareness of leadership techniques and to become acquainted with class associates.
DIVERSITY
To explore diverse perspectives in our community and realize the value of inclusion both professionally and personally. To learn tools and resources to facilitate helping people of diverse backgrounds and perspectives work together more effectively.
EDUCATION
To examine the issues that To identify key issues and concerns - of students, teachers and administrators as well as community – and learn how the county’s school system plans for and meets these needs; To learn ways that leaders can help educators prepare youth to be constructive engaged members of the community. BUSINESS, SPORTS AND TOURISM
To provide an overview of economic development and tourism in our community and learn how tourism, sports and the arts are key contributors to economic growth in the county.
NON PROFIT SEMINAR
To learn about the often misunderstood nonprofit sector and its economic, social, and policy impact on our community. To provide training for service on a nonprofit board. Understand that it takes the private, government, and nonprofit sectors to solve our problems
STATE GOVERNMENT
To have a better understanding of the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of state government and see them in Meet elected officials and have an opportunity to learn more about advocacy and lobbying groups.
ENVIRONMENT, RESOURCES, AND INFRASTRUCTURE
How do we plan for population growth while balancing the needs of human and natural ecosystems needs? To develop a better understanding of the area’s power, water, and infrastructure requirements as well as how area providers are planning to meet them.

CLASS PROJECT DAY
Each class of Leadership St. Pete (LSP), a program of the St. Petersburg Chamber Foundation, is responsible for attempting to make a difference in our community by working with a local nonprofit organization to further its goals in St. Petersburg. The Class Project generally takes the form of a physical facility improvement for the beneficiary organization. The Class Project is intended to be a team building activity among class members and as such, it must involve the entire class and provide opportunities for all to contribute to its success. The Class Project involves planning and fund-raising activities, and always culminates on Class Project Day, a single day on which the entire class gathers to complete the work.
LEGAL SEMINAR
To have a better understanding of both civil and criminal law, its systems, and impact. To help class members develop a general understanding of both civil and criminal law that will help them function as leaders in the community.
