As one of the oldest leadership program in America and a division of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce and its 501(c)(3) Foundation, Leadership St. Pete (LSP) is a dynamic, intensive, interactive, six-month experience designed to promote and enhance community leadership through an in-depth introduction to social, economic, business and political issues in the St. Petersburg area.

LSP class members interact with diverse, high-level community leaders and decision-makers by organizing and attending a series of seminars and retreats in fields ranging from business, government, education, media, social services, criminal justice, diversity, the arts and more. Through these interactions, members learn about their personal leadership styles, nourish their community spirit and gain an invaluable understanding of how our community works.

The bonds forged among the members of each LSP class are deep and long-lasting, offering both personal and professional benefits. Whether you are new to the area or just want to learn more about the important issues facing the community in which you live, LSP is an excellent investment of your time and talents. For additional training and leadership graduate opportunities contact the chamber.

Among the features of LSP are the exceptional speakers that share their knowledge and experience with LSP. Your opportunity to learn from these community leaders and decision-make..rs is a very special feature of the LSP experience. Among those leaders you will meet include leaders from all branches of state government during the two-day government seminar in Tallahassee. This is a powerful opportunity to meet face-to-face with the men and women whose decisions affect every aspect of our personal, public and professional lives on a daily basis.

2010 Tuition for one of the oldest leadership program in America is $2,199 for Chamber Members and $2,799 for non-members (the $600 credit will be used as a credit towards Chamber membership), all inclusive (except for miscellaneous charges).  The deadline for LSP applications is on September 30, 2009. The orientation dinner is in November seminars running through May. Applications will be available starting in July. The application process for LSP includes written essays and personal interviews with the LSP Planning Committee. The new class will be introduced for the first time at the St Pete Young Professional Luncheon on October 29th highligted by comments from Keynote Speaker, Robert M. Dutkowsky, President & CEO, of Tech Data Florida's largest corporation.
